Originally from New York, Dr. Hopke attended Harvard University (B.A., Biochemistry), Stanford University (M.S., Immunology), Columbia University (DDS), and the University of Nebraska (Certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics with concurrent M.S. in Oral Biology). In addition to his impressive credentials, Dr. Hopke is a down-to-earth, friendly guy. He has been involved with dozens of local community and philanthropic activities from earning the rank of Eagle Scout, to being elected National President of the American Student Dental Association.
In between Stanford and Columbia, Dr. Hopke worked in Portland, Oregon where he met his wife, Tana. She was born and raised in Spokane, graduated from UW and served two years with the Peace Corps in Uzbekistan. After her Peace Corp service, Tana returned to the Northwest and earned her Master’s degree in Public Health.
The Hopkes have two daughters, Layla (age 6) and Piper (age 4). They are excited to be home in the Northwest to raise their girls close to family and enjoy the wonderful outdoor activities. They are die-hard Seattle Seahawks fans, and look forward to cheering on the Hawks every year.
Dr. Hopke is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, and the National Association of Parliamentarians. When Dr. Hopke isn’t crafting healthy smiles, he enjoys SCUBA diving, exercising at the gym, road trips, and playing with his kids.
You will find that our office is casual, professional, and very family-oriented as it is a reflection of Dr. Hopke’s philosophy and personality.
We sincerely hope that you always feel welcome here.

“My daughter has been seeing Dr. Hopke for a little over a month now, and you cannot ask for a more caring and compassionate orthodontist! He shows such care for his patients, and his staff explain every little detail at the child’s level using state of the art videos. This use of technology helps my daughter understand the movement and progression with her braces as well as what stage she is currently. She looks forward to her appointments. You cannot ask for a better practitioner!”
